Obituary of Mary Heffron Cass

Mary Heffron Cass, 82, of Marietta, died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, August 5, 2017. Born in Syracuse, Mary was employed by the Syracuse city hall and later, Moon Library at SUNY ESF, until her retirement. Mary enjoyed playing golf, bridge and watching SU sports, but her favorite activity was spending time with her family and friends, especially her Friday night dinners with the ladies. Mary is predeceased by her parents, Nora and Eugene Heffron, her loving husband Eugene Cass and her two brothers, John "Jack" Heffron and Eugene Heffron. Mary is survived by her twin sister Margaret Heffron, her son, Peter (Kimberly) Cass, her grandchildren James, Nora, and Charlie Cass, her step children, Norman Cass, Edward (Suzanne) Cass, Jean Cass, Daniel(Victoria) Cass, Martin Cass, Michael Cass and several step grand children, great grand children and nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 14, 2017 at 10am at St. Francis Xavier Church, 1 W. Main St., Marcellus, NY. Calling hours will be Sunday from 1 to 4pm at the Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave., Syracuse. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Otisco, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association of CNY, 441 West Kirkpatrick St, Syracuse, N.Y. 13204.
