Obituary of Ann L. Fye

Ann L. (Hess) Fye of Syracuse, 95, passed away peacefully at Upstate Medical Center Wednesday Novemebr 15, 2017 after suffering a stroke. She was born on September 4, 1922 in Buffalo, NY to the late Louis & Mollie Hess. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Dewey L. Fye in 2005; grandson, Brian Hunter; sister, Eileen Walsh and brothers, Henry Hess and George Hess. Ann retired from the House of Providence and Catholic Charities in 1981, and enjoyed 20 years of retirment with Dewey in Florida. They returned to Syracuse to be with their loving family, including daughters Pat Lehrer (John Holloran); Janice Hunter; Mary Lou Hogan (Bill Synesael) and son, Dennis Fye. She cherished her grandchildren David (Kelly) Lehrer; Kevin (Katie) Hunter; Tina (Mike) Lewis; Kelly (Mike) Eldred; Sean (Kristen) Hogan; Stacy (Dan) Bartlett; Julie (Mike) Van Gemert. She was thrilled with great-grandchildren Sean & Ryan; RJ & Zack; Haley & Ava; Declan; Parx; Ryan, Jason and Owen; and Olivia. Per her request there are no Calling Hours and flowers are gratefully declined. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday November 18, 2017 at Most Holy Rosary Church at 11am, with interment in St. Agnes Cemetery, Syracuse. The family would like to thank the medical staff at Upstate, 9th Floor- ICU, for their gentle care of our mother during her last days. We also want to thank the caring staff at Elderwood & St. Camillus for the last two years she required nursing home care. Nannie Loved to cook & bake for family & friends, always sharing at her table of plenty. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Food Bank of CNY so family meals can be shared by all.
