Stephanie Woodman Roberts

Stephanie Woodman Roberts, 62, of Syracuse, NY passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 surrounded by her family. A lifelong resident of Syracuse, she was the daughter of John and Muriel Woodman, both deceased. She was a graduate of St. James Franciscan Academy, and attended Brockport University where she received her Bachelors degree for nursing.

An incredible caregiver, she was both the engine that kept her family running, as well as an amazing career nurse. Most of her time was spent in Emergency Rooms at both Community and Crouse Hospitals. Stephanie was an excellent listener, both as a mother and nurse, and was always ready and willing to help when needed.

Stephanie was an avid cook and gardener and loved trips to the Adirondacks which became her special place. She loved music, especially Carly Simon and country music. She enjoyed backyard pool parties just as much as sitting quietly on her front porch. Stephanie also loved dogs. She fell in love with a Newfoundland in her neighborhood as a child and fulfilled this dream with several. She enjoyed her daily long walks with her dogs.

She is survived by her husband, James Roberts. They had an incredible, loving partnership that lasted 40 years. They were blessed with two children, James Roberts, Jr (Erica) of Smyrna, GA and Annie Moore (Dan) of Baldwinsville, NY, as well as three grandchildren, Fletcher and Dempsey Roberts and Emily Moore. Being “Nana” was one of the greatest highlights of her life. She is also survived by her sister Debra Woodman of Sandwich, MA as well as many brother and sister in laws, nieces and nephews.

Stephanie cherished her close family and friends. She was a thoughtful, beautiful person, inside and out, and was full of compassion and love. She’s been our hero her entire life, now it’s time for God to honor her.
