Obituary of James "Jazzy" Cowburn

James “Jazzy” Christopher Cowburn, 50, of Syracuse died Tuesday Oct 3, 2017. Jazzy held various roles with the Syracuse Parks and Recreation Department for the past 25 years, most recently at the green house where he was instrumental in beautifying our city. He was the go to guy between the department and the neighborhoods and schools. His incredible enthusiasm and love for the city never wavered throughout his life. Jazzy was also very active in the Strathmore Community. He was predeceased by his mother Susan Cowburn. Surviving are his children; Kailla, Olivia, and Max. Services were be held Friday, Oct 6th at the Edward Ryan & Son Funeral Home. Burial was in St. Vincent DePaul Cemetery, Cape Vincent NY. Calling hours were held Thursday October 5, 2017. The family would like to extend their appreciation to everyone for their love and support at this difficult time.
