Obituary of Helen Lemanczyk
Helen Lemanczyk (Nestor) passed away peacefully after a brief illness on March 5, 2019. Helen was a lifelong resident of Syracuse and prided herself on raising her children and providing care for many family members throughout her life. Helen was devoted to her church and visited homebound parishioners weekly after retiring from babysitting her grandchildren. Helen kept an immaculately clean house and was an expert at stain removal and folding laundry without a wrinkle. Helen enjoyed baking and decorating cookies with her grandchildren and just this Christmas had the opportunity to share this tradition with her great granddaughter, Claire. She also enjoyed being a short order cook for anyone who stopped by for a visit.
Helen was predeceased by her beloved husband, Larry, and her siblings, Anna, Julia, Peter and John. She will be lovingly remembered by her devoted sons, David (Joan) Lemanczyk, Stephen (Jean) Lemanczyk, Alan Lemanczyk (Susan Demski); grandchildren, David Lemanczyk, Matthew (Terri) Lemanczyk, Emily (Greg) Dutton, Katie (Patrick) Rook and great-grandchildren, Brooke, Brady, and Tyler Lemanczyk and Claire Dutton. Helen is also survived by her sister in law, Mary Shostack, and several nieces and nephews.
We would like to thank the staff at Upstate at Community and Elderwood for their loving and compassionate support of Helen and our family.
