Obituary of Gerald Edward Grosso
Gerald Edward Grosso, 72, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 16, 2019 with his family by his side. Jerry retired as a Lieutenant from the Syracuse City Fire Department after 31 years and was a US Navy veteran. He enjoyed gardening, the outdoors, cooking, music and geneology. Family meant everything to Jerry; his grandchildren were the light of his life. He loved adventures, often traveling the world with Cindy.
He is predeceased by his parents, John “Edward” and Dorothy “Anne” Grosso.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia Collins Grosso; daughter, Lisa M. Grosso; son, Christopher M. (Michelle) Grosso; step-daughters, Karen M. Phillips (Mark Ventrone), and Kelley A. (Joseph) Kelly; 8 grandchildren, Kirstie and Joshua Phillips, Colin and Lauren Kelly, and Leah, Jacob, Hannah, and Briannah Grosso, 3 brothers, Edward (Linda), Charles “Chip” (Kate), and Daniel (Ann) and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at 10am at the Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 19th from 4 to 7pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Onondaga Valley Cemetery.
