My wife Diane and I are so very sorry to learn of your Father/Grandfather's passing. I graduated from the Syracuse Police Academy with him on November 13, 1963. Diane and I went on to be good friends with him and Sherry but as time went on we drifted our separate ways. We did visit with him and his wife several years ago in Fort Myers and enjoyed a nice lunch out. We laughed how I had to shake him awake time after time, trying to get him to the police academy on time. Those were fun times for sure. His Mom and Dad were wonderful people. His Dad's haddock, 2nd to none. Your Dad/Grandfather was a "Cop's Cop" as the saying goes. You can be very proud of all his good work in Law Enforcement. He will be missed by all.

Mr. Casey was an amazing man. Almost nobody would know this however when I was a young teenager in Radisson I was a troubled soul. I found myself at the early age of 13 getting into trouble with the law. Introduce Investigator Bob Casey. He helped me understand my behaviors were not going to produce positive returns and helped me realize that I going down a long dark road. He would take time to check on me when he could and was actually concerned with my well being.
To this day I still remember those long talks he would give me.
For that I'll always be honored to have known you !!!
Thank you Mr. Casey

Bob, you may have left us in body. But, you have left such a mark on all of us that were fortunate enough to know you.
We first met in 1959. I was a new CAP member and you were the new Syracuse Squadron Commander. You taught me well and nurtured our common in flying as well as our common belief in helping others. Years went by and our paths took different turns, but fortunately for me they once again crossed when I was transferred to SP New Hartford. Once in "D" Troop I was reunited with one of my early heroes. The lessons you taught me have always served me well in life. Unfortunately, there are not enough people of your character to dominate this world. After retiring and moving to Florida, I once again was reunited with you through the Florida Association of Troopers/NY, an organization you nurtured and led for many years. You were a tremendous humanitarian, a great leader and always a gentleman.
I am sure your family knows what a wonderful person you were. I consider myself one of the fortunate ones for having enjoyed your company and friendship in life. All of us who knew you will be forever grateful for your presence in our lives. Rest in Peace Bob.

To a swell fellow and friend. Bob, we has some good times flying and never bent a propeller. You are in a better place now and the rest of us hope to join you in the presence of Our Lord. Many years together at SP N.Syracuse and enough memories to fill a book. God bless you my friend and now rest in peace.

Our sincerest condolences to Bob's Family.
Bob, Lee Balch and their wives are not only charter members but are the FOUNDERS of the Florida Association of Retired Troopers/New York State. They put in hundreds of hours setting it up and then arranging reunions in following years. The 8th reunion in 97 was the floating reunion set up by President Bob and wife Pat. A cruise on The LEEWARD of Norwegian Cruise Lines. Everybody got a much needed break from the reunion prep chores. They were handled by Cruise One cruise director Libby Shields.
Not only is he remembered as an outstanding member of the New York State Police but also a Retiree worked tirelessly for Retirees and their families while also being an outstanding business man AND FAMILY MAN!
Rest in Peace Bob,
Sincerely,
Bob and Pauline Jackman

My condolences to Bob's family. He was a great guy and I enjoyed working with him in the N.Y.S.P. Troop D BCI back in the late 1970's & early 1980's. Bob came on the N.Y.S.P on 6/23/1966 when I joined and we enjoyed many good times & laughs over the years. Bob will be remembered by all with fond memories. Rest in Peace Brother!
