Martin E. Conroy, 75, of Syracuse passed away January 17, 2020. He was a proud member of the St. Lucy’s graduating class in 1962. Marty was honorably discharged after his time spent in the United States Navy. He went on to retire from Niagara Mohawk after 44 years of service. He was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous and most recently had celebrated 28 years. Marty loved his AA family and forged many lasting friendships that he cherished. He was predeceased by his brothers, John and Thomas. Marty is survived by his wife Marcia Hallinan MacRae; daughter, Stacey (Brian) Ray; grandchildren, Brianna and Connor Ray; Stepchildren, Patrick (Ted) and Bridget MacRae; a brother, James (Doreen); a sister, Mary Sullivan as well as several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday January 25, 2020 at 11am at Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Drive. Calling hours will be held Friday from 4-7pm at the Edward J. Ryan & Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave. Private burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the CNYSPCA, 5878 E Molloy Rd, Syracuse, NY 13211 or American Cancer Society, 6725 Lyons St, East Syracuse, NY 13057.
