Obituary of Beverly C. Holmes

It is with heavy hearts we announce that Beverly C. Holmes, 82 years old, died February 2, 2021, in her home in Marathon, Florida with her family by her side. Beverly is survived by her husband, Matthew W. Holmes, Jr. The couple was married over 60 years ago at St. Patrick’s Church, where they also attended school together. Bev and Matty have three children, Jeannette Holmes, Nicole Maldonado with her spouse Omar Jr., and Matthew W. Holmes, III with Jasmyn; six grandchildren, Thomas, Nicholas, Amy, Omar III, Madison, and Jadeyn; two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Jase, with one on the way; and she is also survived by her younger sister, Elaine D’Eredita.

Please join us to honor and celebrate Beverly at Edward J. Ryan & Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave., in Syracuse on Monday, February 8, 2021, between 4pm - 7pm. The following day, a mass will be held at 12pm at St. Patrick’s Church, 216 North Lowell Ave., in Syracuse, followed by a procession to Onondaga County Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery where Beverly will be laid to rest, but never, ever forgotten as she is and always will be forever in our hearts.

Beverly C. Holmes, you truly were an incredible person, and we thank god we were able to know you! Rest in peace our beautiful little Bev!
