I would like to extend my condolences to Bob's family for this sad occasion. I worked with Bob on a few cat litter assignments for Church & Dwight at both the York plant and Victorville plant. I represented R&D with engineering while Bob was methodically writing SOP's and training the new crews on how things should be done. We became friends and I miss our dinners on the road either at the Outback or Olive Garden, our two favorites. Always Bob had the Victoria steak at Outback and Chicken Parmigiana.at Olive Garden
After our assignments ended we stayed in touch and we visited Bob a few years back in Syracuse when my wife and I were on the way for a vacation in Niagara Falls. We took Bob to his favorite Italian restaurant in Syracuse and, of course, Bob ordered "Chicken Parmigiana with extra sauce". I knew he was a fan of applesauce as well, but definitely without cinnamon as he reminded every waiter or waitress while ordering.
I always enjoyed my Sunday morning texts from Bob as he gave me an update on what Mass he attended and the latest on Tina, his beloved dog. Bob sent me one of his masterpiece paintings of 4 cats in a beautiful frame and I will cherish that forever.
Bob drove all the way from Syracuse to attend my daughter's wedding in New Jersey on October 12, 2019. Both my daughter (Laura) and her husband (Andrew) were very impressed with Bob and he was a big hit at the wedding. Bob sent them another one of his beautiful paintings of a scene from a cottage window. Laura and Andrew stayed in touch with Bob as well and they miss him dearly.
I still have the green crystal rosary bead gifts that he sent me when I lost my mother and sister about a year ago. Nobody, I ever met was more caring and thoughtful than Bob Vallee.
I am glad that I spent some time with Bob over the years at work and then later as friends. I wish that I could have known him longer but I am grateful for our crossing paths in this life. Bob might take the initiative in heaven to teach the angels better teamwork in serving Our Lord as that was what Bob was all about.
Your friend

Papa, as he was often known amongst our family, was the most loving husband to my grandma, caring father to my mom, aunts and uncles and supportive grandfather to me, my sister and cousins. I will forever cherish all of the wonderful memories I have with him – from our daily texts and frequent breakfast chats over coffee and lemon danishes, to his constant support for my professional development and hearing the many stories he had to tell about his days at Church & Dwight and in the Air Force. The world lost the brightest of lights last week. I find solace in knowing how many lives he touched in Syracuse and beyond with his kind words, good humor and beautiful paintings. I will miss you every day, my Papa Picasso! Until we meet again.

We will miss Bob tremendously. We had the good fortune to meet Bob a few years ago when our oldest daughter became his neighbor. He was an amazing neighbor and friend. We loved his sense of humor, his art, his notes to us, his love for his family and his dog, Tina. Having Bob as a neighbor and friend was definitely a huge plus when our younger daughter also moved to the neighborhood. We looked forward to seeing Bob when we visited our daughters. They couldn't have had a better neighbor. It was always comforting knowing they had such a good neighbor on the corner. Thank you Bob for your caring presence in our family's life. Our thoughts and prayers to Bob's family. We will always treasure the times we spent with Bob. Cheryll & Bob Berg

Bob was a good friend and mentor. We met when he was a supervisor at Church & Dwight. We banged heads many times but in the end remained friends. After the plant closed, we lost touch for a few years. We finally got back together and met for lunch quite frequently. We would reminisce about the plant and the many challenges we encountered. I was president of our union and Bob was my number one nemesis. In the end, we would come up with a solution that helped both sides. Rest In Peace and I wouldn’t doubt that he will organize a class or two for his dynamic presentations. I will miss our texts and funny jokes that he would send. You were a good friend.
