Obituary of Edward T. Mahar
Edward T. Mahar, 63, of Syracuse passed away on May 27, 2021. He retired from Hillbrook Detention Facility and was an amazing photographer. A true ambassador for the softball community, he was influential in the growth of the game, and a fantastic mentor and instructor. He lived for softball; he played it, coached it, watched it and eventually got into umpiring.
Ed loved his dogs, Cody (dec.) and Baylee. He is predeceased by his father, Ed, survived by his mother, Mary, siblings; Linda (Bob May) Mulherin, Dennis (Donna), Michelle, Kevin (Chris), and Colleen, and many nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday, June 4, 2021 at 10am at St. Patrick’s St. Brigid’s Church, 216 N. Lowell. Ave. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, from 4 to 7pm at the church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
