Obituary of Sharon L. Winchell

Sharon Lynne Winchell, 71 of Syracuse, NY passed away on August 17th, 2021 with her siblings by her side. Sharon was born in Syracuse, NY to William (Bud) and June Winchell on September 16th, 1949. She graduated from St. Lucy’s Academy and then went on to St. Gregory’s and Suny Brockport where she earned a degree in Education. She worked as a teacher for the Syracuse City SChool District for 34 years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed skiing and sailing. 

 

Sharon is survived by her brothers, Bill (Susan) Winchell, Stephen (Judy) Winchell, sisters, Jean Hughes, Janice (Greg) Esposito, and Suzanne (Tom) Thompson and many nieces and nephews.

 

A special thanks to Beth O’Donnell and Linda McHugh for all their loving care.

 

The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, August 19th from 4pm-7pm at Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave, Syracuse, NY. A funeral mass will be held on Friday August 20th at 11:30am at Most Holy Rosary, 111 Roberts Ave, Syracuse, NY. Burial will be in Valley Cemetery.

 

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Central New York (www.hospicecny.org): 990 7th N St, Liverpool, NY 13088.
