Obituary of Beverly "Sissy" Wright

  Beverly (Sissy) Wright, 89 of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.


  Beverly was born in Syracuse on May 5, 1935, to John and Edna Wright and has been a resident of Tipperary Hill for nearly 60 years. Bev began working as a teenager behind the candy counter at the Cameo Theatre on Grand Ave before leaving Vocational High School to join her parents and brother Jack working at Syracuse China. Bev enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Bowling with “the sisters-in-law", playing cards, bingo, trips to the casino and her scratch-offs. Bev was a member of the Tipperary Hill Neighborhood Assoc. where she enjoyed many years volunteering at events. She was predeceased by her parents, brothers, Jack, Bobby, and Charlie (Sonny) as well as her niece Judy Wright and nephew Phil Wright. Bev is survived by her nephews Alfred LaDuke, and Jeff Wright (Steve Lippy), great-nieces Mariah Wright,  Meghan Wright, Allison Nanno (her Joey) great-great nieces Madison Clark and Brielle Nanno, goddaughter Carol as well as many cousins. The family would like to thank the staff on Fahey 3 at Loretto for their compassionate care of Bev during her brief stay.

  Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, from 4pm to 6pm at the Edward J. Ryan & Son Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at 10am in St. Patrick -St. Brigid Parish on Tipperary Hill in Syracuse. In lieu of flowers, a donation to The Loretto Foundation would be appreciated.
