Richard 79, a proud veteran of the Marine Corps passed away on February 24, 2025.


Richard was born in New York City to Dick and Mary Ryan. Richard had a deep love for his family and friends. He shared his wisdom and humor with all, especially his grandchildren. He is predeceased by his sister Betty. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Karen Ryan; his best friend Bill (Thomasine) Aberle; daughters, Kathleen (Matt) Welch, Maureen (Jeff) Mason;grandchildren, Logan, Khloe, Kiley, Lucas and Nora.


Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 11 to 12:30 p.m. at the Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave, Syracuse. He will be laid to rest in Veterans Memorial Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Central New York & of the Finger Lakes.
