James Coffey Obituary

James “Jim” E. Coffey passed away peacefully on March 9, 2025 at the age of 80. Born on November 18, 1944 in Bremerton, Washington, James was the oldest of six children born to Robert J. and Rosemary (Phillips) Coffey.


Jim graduated from Saint Patrick’s High School and Gannon University. He was employed by The American Red Cross. He enjoyed reading, feeding the squirrels and birds in Burnet Park, handing out “Smiley Cards” and telling jokes to anyone passing by.


Jim was predeceased by his parents, siblings, Robert L. Coffey, Anne E. Coffey, brother-in-law, Howard West and nephew, Bjorn Eklund.


He is survived by sisters, Donna West and Christine (William) Eklund, brother, Terrence (Mary Lee Gilmartin) Coffey, sister-in-law, Anne Coffey, brother-in-law, Richard Petty and many nieces, nephews and cousins.


As requested by Jim, there will be no funeral services. He always suggested that family members and friends could have an ice cream in his memory.
