Obituary of Ann M. Fesler

Please share a memory of Ann to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Ann M. Fesler, a woman of deep faith, rose to new life on May 9, 2025.  After a stint in the hospital and rehab at the end of last year, her wish to die in her home was fulfilled.  She was ready to be reunited with her family in a heavenly home.

Ann was predeceased by her husband Darwin Fesler, her parents, John and Hannah (Ryan) Flanagan, who immigrated to the United States and raised the family on Tippery Hill in Syracuse.  Also going before her were her siblings: Mary Flanagan, Rev. John Flanagan and, most recently, her Joan Flanagan.  Ann was the last of the Flanagan clan in the United States.

Ann had a pure soul.  While she made a living as a bookkeeper balancing things to the penny, her greatest concern was the balance of her life.  She credits her parents with modeling a good Christian life.  Ann was kind and generous, patient with others, always caring for the needs of others first, and always willing to help.  She was the personification of Jesus’ command, “Love one another as I have loved you (John 13:34).”  The world is a better place because of Ann.  May God now hold her in the hollow of His hand.

We will celebrate Ann’s life with a Mass Thursday May 15, 2025 at 11am at Holy Family Church.  Visitation prior to the Mass from 10-11am at church.  Burial at St. Mary’s cemetery.
