William P. Carroll, 85, passed away peacefully after a brief illness in the comfort of his home on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 in the loving presence of his wife and daughters.  Bill was a retired captain of 35 years from the Syracuse Fire Department. He enjoyed camping, traveling and fishing and was an avid Yankees fan.  Bill loved spending time with his family and his beloved dog, Jake Patrick.

He is predeceased by his parents, William and Eileen, sister, Catherine Hackett, infant children, Mary and Joseph Carroll and beloved granddaughter, Lizzi Carroll- Marsh.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Katherine, adored children, Mary Beth Johnson (Jeffrey), Bonnie Carroll- Marsh (Del), and Kathryn Copp (Robert), 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, sister, Helen Gould, brother and sister in law, Lynne and Sandra Simmons, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved him dearly.

There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial Funeral will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 10am at Our Lady of Hope, 4845 S. Salina St. Burial will be private for immediate family only.
