Courtney Margaret Spain, aged 42, died peacefully in her sleep on June 27, 2025.
A graduate of Jordan-Elbridge High School and an art student at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
Courtney’s artistic talent was immeasurable. Her humor, warmth, brilliance, and lively personality captivated everyone who knew her. She was a pillar of her community, deeply loved by those close to her and by countless others who were lucky enough to cross her path.
Courtney had a unique gift for bringing people together. She was the family’s peacemaker, always offering a listening ear, a kind word, or a well-timed laugh to ease tensions and remind everyone of what truly matters. She said “I love you” often and meant it every time, leaving no doubt in the hearts of those she cared about.
Courtney managed The Wayside Irish Pub for 17 years. She was a trivia extraordinaire with a mind like a library and a memory like a steel trap. Her gifts left everyone in awe. Her laugh was unmistakable and contagious. Courtney will remain in our hearts forever.
She is survived by Roger and Margaret (Margo) Spain, her parents, Caitlin (James) Davis, her sister, Brendan (Danielle) Spain, her brother, Quinn Davis and Isabel Spain, her nieces and Jack Spain, her nephew. Her loving partner Brandon (LT) Dann. She also leaves many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded by John and Patricia Conroy, Michael and Annie (Betty) Spain, her grandparents.
