Beloved husband and father, Jack Halpin, 89, passed away peacefully, Thursday, July 10, 2025. He is survived by his daughters, Maureen (Brian) McCaul, Linda (Ken) Pettit and son, John (Anne), 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Jack was predeceased by his loving wife, Judy, his parents James and Ellen, and his siblings Bill, Kathleen, and Elfreda.
Jack was an avid lover of a coffee hour wherever he could find it (and it could be any hour!) He also enjoyed cruising the St. Lawrence in his boat or one of the beautiful lakes here in Syracuse. Jack was a lover of life and lived for every moment he could spend with family and friends.
As a member of the IBEW Local 43, Jack worked for the Syracuse City Schools for over 20 years, and then continued to light, repair, and rewire houses and businesses for family and friends long after he “retired”.
A proud Irish Catholic, Jack celebrated his heritage and his faith, which he shared through family, and at church. He sponsored many catechumens in the RCIA program at St. Charles St. Ann’s parish, where he also volunteered in many capacities.
A calling hour will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 from 9:00am-10:00am at St. Charles/St. Ann’s Parish, followed by a mass for Christian Burial. Interment will follow at the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Syracuse, NY.
