It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Doris Mary Kinane, 90 on September 12, 2025. Her spirit left this world peacefully, surrounded by her family at Crouse Hospital after a sudden illness.

She was born in Syracuse on June 7, 1935, to Richard and Mary Kanfoush. Doris was one of six siblings, all of whom were previously deceased. She attended St. Anthony of Padua High School and Powleson Business Institute. She was previously married to Peter Kinane. Together, they had five children.

She held several positions using her superior typing and clerical skills at GE Appliance Sales, Automobile Mutual, Sears and Roebuck, Roosevelt School, Onondaga Community College, and Richard + Company Jewelers.

In her later years, Doris had a knack for “supervising” as a garden expert, Christmas Cookie Professional, and of course, an expert Tabouleh Resource Consultant.

She is lovingly survived by her five children, Greg Kinane and soon-to-be wife Jennifer Savastino, Phil Kinane and his wife Suzie, Carol Stoianoff and her husband Bo, Sandy Shoff and her husband Tim, Theresa Allen and her husband Tim. She is also survived by ten grandchildren: Jonathan Kinane, Erin Babiarz, P.J. Kinane, Peter, Alec, and Michael Stoianoff, Shannon Shoff, and Brian, Bridget, and Brooke Allen, and five great grandchildren.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the nursing staff throughout Crouse Hospital during her brief stay there – with an additional expression of gratitude to Debbie Burke, NP.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday September 17, 2025 at 10:30am at St. Joseph’s Church, Camillus. Calling hours will be held Tuesday September 16, 2025 from 4-7pm at the Edward J. Ryan & Son Funeral Home. Burial will be private.

Donations should be made to the Guardian Angel Society, which was founded by Father Joseph Champlin.
