Catherine A.  (Moran) Hoey, known to family and friends as Cathy, passed away on January 2, 2026.

Cathy was a devoted mother and is survived by her four daughters: Sarah (Dan) Pickard, Jessica Hoey, Rebecca (Jamie) Wolfe, and Alison Hoey. She is also survived by her sister, Carol Kittredge; her grandchildren Brittany, Stephen, Ashley, Ryan, and Reese; her great‑granddaughter, Savannah; and by her brother‑in‑law, Richard Berkery, husband of her late sister Sue.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Stephen B. Hoey; by her siblings, Sue Berkery and Paul Moran; and by her brother‑in‑law, Kevin Kittredge, husband of her sister Carol.

Cathy spent many years working for the Syracuse City School District as a teacher, dedicating herself to her community with kindness and commitment.

She found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Cathy loved listening to music, reading, and spending time with her family. She especially cherished being near the water—whether at the beach or enjoying peaceful days by the pool at her home. She was a beautiful storyteller, known for the humor, warmth, and vivid detail she brought to every memory she shared.

Cathy will be remembered for her love of family, her gentle spirit, and the way she found meaning in everyday moments.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026 from 4 to 6pm.
