Obituary of James E. Rogers

James E. Rogers, 85, of Syracuse died Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at University Hospital. He was born in Syracuse and lived her most of his life. Jim retired from the Syracuse City School District in 1995. He was predeceased by his first wife, Virginia in 1967, his second wife, Elizabeth in 1999 and his sister, Mary. He is survived by his two sons; James and Edward, three daughters; Estella, Mary Jo and Christie, a brother, Paul, a sister, Lois, 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 11 am at St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt, Randall Rd. entrance. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 7pm at the Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Upstate Stroke Center: 750 East Adams St., University Health Care Center, Syracuse, NY 13210.
