Obituary of Helen Sakran Michaels

Helen Sakran Michaels, 91, passed away January 31, 2017. Helen was born in Syracuse June 2, 1925 and was a lifelong resident. She worked with her husband at their grocery stores on Gifford St. and West Newell Street. Helen loved spending her summer weekends at her camp in the 1000 Islands and cooking her famous hamburgers and french fries. Her passion in life was her family who were the center of her world. Helen is predeceased by her husband, Morgan in 1979, brothers; John, Harvey & William, and sisters; Rita Michaels, Lorice Brilbeck & Eleanor Ibraham. She is survived by her son, Al (Judy) Michaels, daughter, Mary Alice (Bob) Krenrich, grandsons; Kevin (Deana) Michaels, Al (Maria) Michaels, Morgan (Helena) Michaels, Steven (Kristen) Michaels, Michael (Bridget) Krenrich, Ted Krenrich & Robert (Heather) Krenrich, 8 great grandchildren; Geoffrey Michaels, Ryan Michaels, Alexis Michaels, Kyle Michaels, Kaitlin Krenrich, Emily Krenrich, Madeline Krenrich and Charlotte Krenrich. A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 9am at the Edward J. Ryan & Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave. Calling hours will be held Friday from 4-7pm at the funeral Home. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Humane Society of CNY, 4915 W. Taft Rd, Liverpool, NY 13088.
