News travels slow to Ohio. I would like to express my condolences to the Galante family. I was a friend and teammate at CBA. We were close all four years. Joe never had a bad word for anyone and I was lucky to be around him.

Dear Judy,
Gary and I are so saddened to hear of Joe's passing. He was a dear friend. We are happy we were able to have a long visit with him in 2015 when we were in Syracuse. It's a memory we will cherish along with a lifetime of friendship and memories. I had the privilege of knowing your loving mother when she use to tailor my clothes years ago. I loved seeing them together and the deep bond they had. I like to think of them together again...
Our deepest sympathies to you, your family and Joe's daughters. We will miss him.

Judy & family, my memories of Joey were of a long time ago when I lived on Lewis St. He was the little brother of my friend, a sweet kid who always had a smile on his face. Years go by, life happens, and we find ourselves where we are today mourning Joey. He touched people's hearts in different ways and our lives are richer for it. Cherish the good times and good memories of your beloved brother. May it comfort you to know that he is a peace in God's loving arms and he hurts no more. Our deepest sympathy goes out to you and all who loved him. Rest in peace, Joey.

Growing up two blocks from Joey one of my child hood memories were snowball fights sidewalk to sidewalk accros Milton Ave. Joey had a "fastball" that if you got hit in the leg it would knock you backwords & you were black & blue & sore for a week. A sign of his great pitching skills to come.
Over the years we would run into each other at different function or about town. Joey always greeted me with a big smile & we would then take however long it took to catch.up.
My sincere condolence to the whole family on your loss.i hope that all your good memories help you through the coming weeks and months,
Billy Gooley

Will always remember, as both a teammate and foe, Joe's great skills on the mound, but more importantly what a kind, sincere person he was. Seems more and more the really good guys are leaving us too soon.
