Obituary of Edward R. Gilbert

Edward R. Gilbert of Syracuse, NY, passed away at home with his wife by his side on December 22, 2013 at the age of 83. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He contributed over 40 years of service to the youth in Scouting. Edward is survived by his wife of 53 years, Florence; son, Christopher of Pittsburgh, PA; daughter, Patricia (David) Wickes of Baldwinsville, NY; grandchildren, Paisley and Lochlann Gilbert, and Ava and Lauren Wickes, and several nieces; a nephew and cousins. Funeral Mass at St. Ann's Church, 4461 Onondaga Blvd., Syracuse, NY, on December 27, 2013 at 10 a.m. Contributions in Edwards memory may be made to St. Ann's Church or to the Friends of Killbuck Lodge, which is currently the home base for Ed's grandson's Boy Scout Troop 248, and is to be restored for many future generations of Scouts to enjoy.
