Obituary of Jane E. Fahey-Suddaby

Jane E. Fahey-Suddaby passed away on December 23, 2013 after a long and courageous battle with Melanoma Cancer. Jane was an educator and administrator with the Syracuse City School District. She served as the Director of Special Education and Director of Instructional Support for the Liverpool School District and retired from her position as Assistant Superintendent of Oswego BOCES in July 2013. She was a graduate of Most Holy Rosary School, Onondaga Community College, and obtained her Bachelors Degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She obtained her Masters Degree from Syracuse University and a CAS in Educational Administration from SUNY Cortland. She was a consummate professional who was loved by her students and colleagues. She was a Past President and Board Member of the Onondaga County Public Library Board of Trustees, a member of the Board of Elmcrest Children's Center, Board Member of the Center on Human Policy at Syracuse University and a Fundraiser for the McMahon-Ryan Child Advocacy site capital campaign. Like other members of her immediate family she was deeply involved in politics and civic affairs and a candidate for the 119th District of the New York State Assembly in 2010. She loved to spend her summers with family and friends at their summer home in Thousand Island Park on the St. Lawrence River. Anyone who ever met her had a new friend. She brought sunshine, fun and joy into every life she touched. She was the daughter of the late City Court Judge James J. and Mary M . Fahey. She is survived by her husband U.S. District Court Judge, Glenn T. Suddaby and her sons, Conor James and Ryan McGuire Suddaby, her sister, Mary J. Fahey Esq and brothers, James J., Fahey, Charles M. Fahey and County Court Judge, Joseph E. Fahey (Terri Bright). A Mass of Christian Burial and a celebration of Jane' life will be held at Most Holy Rosary Church, 111 Roberts Ave., Syracuse, New York on Monday, December 30, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. AT JANE'S REQUEST THERE WILL BE NO CALLING HOURS.
