Obituary of Anne F. Schmidt

Anne F. Schmidt, 79, of Syracuse passed away peacefully Wednesday January 24, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.

Anne was a lifelong resident of Syracuse and a proud graduate of Most Holy Rosary.  She retired from The Syracuse City School District in 2003 after many years working as a teaching assistant with the Pre-K program

She was predeceased by her parents, Francis “Mike” and Edna, and her brother, John Herbert Sheedy.

Anne is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Donald V. Schmidt; sons, Don Jr (Nancy), David (Lori), Daniel, Doug (Bernadette), Dennis (Anna); daughters, Anne (Bill) Abbott and Marybeth (Ron) Byrne, brother, Jim (Maureen) Sheedy; sister in law, Joanne Sheedy, 22 grandchildren,15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday January 29, 2018 at 10am at Most, Holy Rosary Church, 111 Roberts Ave. Calling hours will be held Sunday January 28, 2018 from 2-5pm at the Edward J. Ryan & Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the exceptional care given to Anne from Nascentia Healthcare. A special thank you to Donna Negus for her dedication to Anne and the entire Schmidt Family.
