Obituary of Anna K. (Nancy) Doran

Anna K. (Nancy) Doran of North Port, FL, loving sister and aunt, passed away at age 83 on December 4, 2013 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte, FL. Nancy was born in Syracuse, NY on September 7, 1930 to William and Nellie Doran. She graduated from Solvay High School in Solvay, NY and worked at the Solvay Process Company for 15 years. Nancy studied religious education at Mount Alvernia College in Newton, MA and became a member of the Missionary Franciscan Sisters. She taught elementary school and religious education in Augusta, GA, Syracuse, NY and Binghamton, NY. Nancy also worked at the Onondaga County Central Library in Syracuse, NY from where she retired and moved to North Port, FL in 2001. She is survived by her sister, Mary Boyd of North Port, FL; nephews Patrick Doran of Phoenix, AZ, Matthew Doran of Syracuse, NY and David Boyd of Tampa, FL; nieces Kathleen Boyd of Boston, MA and Ellen (Jay) Corbett of New York, NY. A funeral mass will be held at Saint Cecilia's Catholic Church in Solvay, NY on December 9th at 9:30am with burial immediately following in St. Mary's Cemetery, Skaneateles. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Cecilia's Church, 1001 Woods Rd., Solvay, NY 13209.
