Obituary of Helen Murray McInerney

Helen (Murray) McInerney, 87, of Fairmount died March 7th at St. Camillus. Graduating from St. Vincent's in 1943 the proud captain of the cheerleading squad, she was a female athlete before her time, she enjoyed skiing, ice skating and tennis. Helen married the late Jack McInerney in 1948 and raised 4 wonderful children. Helen was a great baker, especially her brownies, pies, and date bread. Later in life she found the joy of gardening and spent endless hours tending to her flowers. She was a member of Holy Family Parish for 60 years. As a member of the Altar Rosary Society, she served on many fashion show committees and was instrumental in the creation of the first Holy Family cookbook.Helen loved her family, friends, faith, Irish heritage and especially her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Helen (Cummings) Murray and two sisters, Kathleen Venner and Joanne Murray. She is survived by 4 children, Joanne Przasnycki (Bob) and Kevin McInerney, both of Syracuse, John Jr. of St. Louis and Martha Carlin (Jawood) of Philadelphia, 7 grandchildren; Kelly Przasnycki, Katy and Molly McInerney, Meghan McInerney and Kate, Brian and Sean Carlin, and 17 nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Monday, 10:00 am at Holy Family Church, Chapel Drive. Burial will be in Veteran's Memorial Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Those desiring donations in Helen's name may do so to Holy Family Church.
