Obituary of Alice (Stapleton) Haley

Alice Ann (Stapleton) Haley, 89, went to join her husband Jack on Wednesday April 2. Born in Syracuse on March 15th 1925, she lived in Westvale most of her life. Alice graduated from LeMoyne College and worked for American Airlines for many years. She married Jack Haley in 1959 and together they raised 3 daughters. Alice was a great friend to many and enjoyed Wii bowling in her later years. Alice was always admired for her impeccable taste in decorating. She had many close friends who will miss her, including her lifelong friend Betty McInerney. Alice was a WWII veteran proudly serving in the Coast Guard. Alice was predeceased by her husband the Honorable John (Jack) Haley in 1991. She is survived by her 3 daughters and one son in law, Susan Haley of CT, Denise Haley of Westvale and Jackie ( Dr. John) Fatti of Camillus. Also one loving sister Sally (Gus) Ryan and several cousins, nieces and nephews. The Family would like to thank her caregiver and friend Lisa Rathbun for her devoted care and love. She is grandma to "B" and Bailey. The Family extends a thank you to Home Aides and her many friends and staff at the Villas of Summerfield. At the request of Alice there will be no calling hours but a funeral mass to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday April 5th at 10am at St Patrick's Church. Private burial will be in Onondaga County Veteran's Memorial Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her honor to Friends of Rosamond Gifford Zoo, 1 Conservation Place Syracuse, NY 13204
