Obituary of Alma Jeanne "AJ" Timmons King

Alma Jeanne "AJ," Timmons King passed away Friday, July 4, 2014 at Upstate University Hospital Community Campus. Alma was born in Syracuse on September 13, 1924, to the late Walter H. and Gertrude Agnes (Craig) Timmons. She was a communicant of St. Michael- St. Peter Church, Onondaga Hill. Alma retired after 25 years at Community General Hospital, she had also worked at The Telephone Company and Chappell's. She enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting and reading. She was an accomplished seamstress. Alma was predeceased by her husband, Francis H., son, Thomas F., brothers, Walter, James, Richard and sisters, Eleanor and Arlene. Surviving are her daughters, Jeanne Marie Nolan, Patricia Toth and MaryAnne Davis, 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, July 8th at 10:30am at St. Michael – St. Peter Church, Onondaga Hill. Family will receive friends between 10:00- 10:30am at the church prior to the service. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Onondaga Hill Fire Department; 4831 Velasko Rd, Syracuse, NY 13215, Upstate University Hospital Community Campus; 4900 Broad Rd, Syracuse, NY 13215, or Hospice of CNY; 990 7th N St, Liverpool, NY 13088.
