Obituary of Barbara Digney Lipari

Barbara Digney Lipari passed on Friday, January 9, 2015 at Crouse Hospital after a long illness. She was the daughter of Ernest and Mary Digney. Barb was a 1953 graduate of St. Anthony's High School where she was a member of the Flormel Sorority and made many lasting friendships. She was an avid basketball fan; the "Nats" were her team and she even followed them on road games. She also loved the S.U. Orange. She enjoyed spending her winters in Dunedin, FL, where she had many friends. Her greatest accomplishment was raising her four sons and being a wonderful wife to Frank for 52 years. Barb is predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Mary Digney. She is survived by her husband, Frank, sons, Jim (Dorine), John (Sue), Steve (Maureen) and Frank Jr., granddaughter, Katherine and grandson, Michael, sisters, Mary Jo Smith (Larry), and Peggy Digney. Calling hours will be Monday, January 12, 2015 from 4 to 7pm at the Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10am at Holy Family Church. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Francis House, 108 Michaels Ave., Syracuse, NY 13208.
