Obituary of Margaret "Peggy" Corning

Margaret "Peggy" Corning, 70, of Westvale, passed away peacefully Friday with her loving family by her side. She was a nurse and a communicant of St. Patrick's Church. Peggy was active with the Geddes Senior group, bowling league, golf league and was a volunteer at Unity Kitchen. She especially loved watching her grand children's sporting events, attending concerts, telling stories and setting up surprise trips to NYC and Old Forge. Peggy was predeceased by her parents; Henry and Anne Sansone and two brothers, Sam and Henry. She is survived by her husband, Michael; her sons, Michael (Janine) and Mark (Andrea); her daughter, Nancy (Doug) Negus; grandchildren, Cailyn and MacKenzie Negus, and Ashley, Andrew and Alyse Corning. She is also survived by two sisters, Marcia Lowther and Joan Costello as well as several nieces and nephews. A mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 9:30 am at St. Patrick's Church, 216 N. Lowell Ave. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, May 27 from 4 to 7 pm at the Edward J. Ryan & Son Funeral Home; 3180 Bellevue Ave. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the St. Patrick's heritage fund, 216 N. Lowell Ave., Syracuse, NY 13204.
