Kathleen (Granahan) Spain, 76, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully in her daughter's home in Massachusetts last Friday. She was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Mike. Born in CO. Mayo, Ireland, she was a caretaker of many, a retired banquet waitress from the Hotel Syracuse, and also worked for St. Camillus. She was a communicant of St. Brigid's & St. Joseph's Church in Syracuse and a member of the Alter & Rosary Society. Kathleen will always be remembered and cherished for her kind and giving ways.
Surviving are her daughters, Kathy Chorny and Mary McCarthy; son, Sean Spain; grandsons, Chris Chorny, Brian McCarthy and Devin Spain; granddaughters, Erin Chorny, Kayla Spain and Megan McCarthy; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Spain (Collard); son-in-law Paul McCarthy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Brigid's & St. Joseph's Church, Syracuse. There will be no calling hours. Entombment will directly follow services at St. Mary's Resurrection Mausoleum, DeWitt.
