Thomas M. Michaels, 64, of Syracuse, NY passed away peacefully at home. He was a retired superintendent of Syracuse's Water Department and a graduate of Most Holy Rosary. Thomas enjoyed golf, the Yankees and Giants, and loved spending time with his family, friends and grandchildren. Thomas is predeceased by his mother, Therese Michaels, brother, Daniel Michaels and sister-in-law, Mary Lou Michaels. He is survived by his daughter, Jessica (Shanny) Moreno, grandchildren, Rafael, Isabelle, Lucia, his father, Thomas G., his siblings; James, William (Sharon), Marilyn (Jeff) Hackett, Mark, Laura, Michael (Mary) and 11 nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 10am at Most Holy Rosary Church, 111 Roberts Ave. Calling hours will be Monday, September 7, from 4 to 7pm at the Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave., Syracuse. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Thomas' honor to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation; 2507 James St #106, Syracuse, NY 13211 or the Susan Komen Breast Cancer Foundation; 5008 Brittonfield Pkwy # 300, East Syracuse, NY 13057.
