Obituary of Henry Romaine McConnell

Henry "Hank" McConnell, 7 9, October 11, 2015, of Syracuse passed away peacefully at University Community Hospital. He was born October 29, 1935, to James and Ethal McConnell. Henry served in the United States Air Force and was a Korean War Veteran. Henry was a proud member, President and Business Agent of Cement Masons Local #519 for many years before becoming a owner of Henry McConnell Concrete Floors, Inc. in 1986. Henry loved the Yankees and watching SU basketball with his family. Along with his parents Henry is predeceased by his daughter, Trina Marie; his sister, Mary Roberts; and brothers, William, Neil, and Paul. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mary; daughters, Linda and Leslie of Syracuse, Lisa of Byron, IL.; sons, Dan (Mary) of Villages, FL, Henry and Vernon of Syracuse, and Billy of Atlanta, GA; 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, his sister, Kathie McCarthy of Liverpool; and his brothers, James of Syracuse and Douglas of Baldwinsville. Graveside services will be held on Friday, October, 16 2015 at 11AM at Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, October 15, 2015 from 4 to 7pm at the Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave., Syracuse. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Disabled American Veterans Charity; 344 W. Genesee St. # 203, Syracuse, NY 13202.
