Barbara F. Ackerman (Gilmore) 88, has gone to be with the Lord after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was a resident at St. Camillus nursing home. She was an employee of Ames department store for 19 years. She enjoyed bowling and going to bingo with family and friends. She is predeceased by her husband, Kenneth E. Sr., daughter and son-in-law, Anne L. and Marvin Jamison, and siblings, Joseph Gilmore, Mary Loefstedt, Helen Stack, Florence Stoffel, and Theresa G. Gilmore. She is survived by her children, George K. (Maureen), Penny J. McNaught (Thomas), Alice M. Ackerman, Ida M. Costello (Jay), Kenneth E. (Kimberly), Joseph E., and Michael P. (Patrice) Ackerman, grandchildren, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10am on Friday, February 5, 2016 at St. Lucy's Church, 432 Gifford St. Calling hours will be held 4 to 7pm on Thursday at the Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of CNY: 990 7th N St, Liverpool, NY 13088 and St. Camillus Nursing Home: 813 Fay Rd, Syracuse, NY 13219.
