Obituary of Curtis "Kip" VanBuren

Curtis "Kip" VanBuren of Westvale and The Villages, Florida passed away in the Villages Regional Hospital May 5, 2016 at the age of 72. He was a 1962 Graduate of Ogdensburg Free Academy and a 1967 graduate of Syracuse University. He was a member of the Eighth Tank Battalion US Marine Corp. Kip retired from SUNY Upstate Medical University Department of Finance and Management. He was an avid golfer and past member of Drumlins and Camillus Country Club. Kip enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and never missed an opportunity to make you laugh. He is survived by his wife, Ellen "Bunny" (Namisniak) VanBuren, his sons, Jeffrey (Karen), Peter (Amy), and grandchildren, Jacob, Samantha, Grace, Matthew, and Dewey and several niece, nephews, and cousins. Services will be Friday May 13th, 9:00am at the Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave. and 10:00am at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 214 N. Lowell Ave. Burial will follow in Onondaga Valley Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday May 12th 4-7pm at the funeral home.
