Obituary of Vera N. Welsh (Shultz)

Vera N. Welsh (Schultz), 90, of Syracuse died at home, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday after a brief illness. Born in Syracuse, she graduated from Central Tech High School and retired after 30 years as a waitress in several Syracuse area restaurants. Vera was always ready to give her service with a smile. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, music and the company of all the beloved Welsh dogs, especially Penny Jean. Vera was a communicant of Holy Family Church. She was prejdeceased her husband, Charles E. Welsh in 1998. Vera is survived by her daughters, Maureen Weidenkopf of Corvallis, OR, Mindy (John) Queen and Laura Welsh of Syracuse, three grandchildren, and a great granddaughter. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at 10am at Holy Family Church, Fairmount. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4 to 6pm at the Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave., Syracuse. Burial will be in Onondaga Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
