Barbara J. McIntosh passed into eternal peace on Thursday May 19, 2016 at age 94. Wife to Bruce for nearly 64 years; a superb homemaker, champion golfer, ballroom dancer, and excellent card player. Mother to Bonnie (JC) Engelbrecht and Steven (Deborah) McIntosh. Grandmother to Jason Deuel, Kathryn (Don Higgins) McIntosh, James (Chelsea) McIntosh. Barbara lived an active life, volunteered for over 40 years at Community-General Hospital, was known to have a competitive spirit, projected a can-do attitude, and she had a real talent for cooking, and baking as well - pecan pie was a favorite! In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Albany County Nursing Home, 780 Albany-Shaker Road, Albany, NY 12211. Please write 'Activities Department' on check memo line. Barbara leaves an extended family and caregivers at ACNH; the family is grateful also to The Community Hospice for their timely assistance. Services by Edward J. Ryan & Son Funeral Home in Syracuse. Calling hours will be 4 to 6 pm on Thursday May 26. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at The Parish of St. Charles – St. Ann's, 501 S. Orchard Rd., Westvale, at 10 am on Friday May 27. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery and Mausoleum in Dewitt.
