Obituary of Nancy E. O'Connor Jacuk

The "jewel" of the O'Connor/ Jacuk family passed peacefully on June 13, 2016 at Francis House. Known to her family as "Mema" or "Crazy Aunt Nancy," she was loved to the moon and back by her family and friends. Nancy's outgoing personality was infectious and we were all blessed to be a part of her life. Nancy loved her job of 21 years at Delaware Academy where faculty, staff and children were a second family to her. Nancy was predeceased by her parents, Bill and Rosalind O'Connor, nephews, Tommy Moore, Keith Jacuk and niece, Erin Jacuk. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Dave, children, Ellen (Bill) Graser, David of Colorodo, Michael (Mimi) and Matthew (Jill). Nancy had 9 grandchildren that were the loves of her life, Justin (Coryn), Maggie, Kathleen and Luke Graser, Connor, Emmett and Abbey Jacuk, and Travis and Victoria Jacuk. Nancy is also survived and adored by her sisters, Mary Ann (Tom) Moore of Utica and Rita (Peter) Baker of Elbridge, as well as 14 nieces and nephews and their spouses, that she loved like her own children. She is also survived by many wonderful cousins and friends. Please join us in celebrating Nancy's life Friday, June 17th at St. Patrick's Church, Syracuse from 4 to 7pm. A Catholic Mass in honor of Nancy will be celebrated Saturday at 10am at the church. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners, NY. Contributions can be made in Nancy's name to the Crouse Foundation, Francis House or St. Patrick's Heritage Fund. Thank you to the amazing people at Crouse Irving and Francis House who took care of Nancy like she was part of their own family. And to Fr. Kevin Maloney, your friendship has been a blessing to our family.
