Obituary of Mary Zawistowski (Casey)

Mary Margaret (Casey) Zawistowski passed into eternal life on Saturday, July 23rd, with her family by her side. Mary was born in Syracuse, the daughter of Mary McHale and Michael J. Casey. She was a life-long resident of the Syracuse area, moving to Camillus in the 1960's. She attended St. Patrick's School and graduated from Vocational High School. She married Ervin Zawistowski on September 9, 1950. They shared 52 years of married life. Mary was a parishioner of St. Patrick's church, where she was a member of the Altar-Rosary Society, Lector and Eucharistic Minister. She was a loving Nana to her grandchildren Sarah & James Hillick. She was predeceased by her husband, Ervin, her brother, Michael ("Joe") and her granddaughter, Sarah. Mary is survived by her son, David of Syracuse, her daughter, Mary (Robert) Hillick of Whitesboro, her grandson, James Hillick of Truckee, California, and a niece and nephew, Ann and Michael Zavy of Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 29, 2016 at 10:30 am at St. Patrick's Church, Tipperary Hill. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 8:00 to 10:00 am at the Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave., Syracuse. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Salisbury Rd.
