Please share a memory of Peter to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Peter D. Speno, formerly of Syracuse, NY, died suddenly from a heart attack on September 24, 2016. On October 2nd friends and family gathered for a celebration of life in Peter's home and community of Murphys, CA. Peter's #1 in life and friendship is his wife, Inge. Peter's hobbies centered around travel and friendship; being a kind gentle person, genuine ability of gifting to others, setting and sharing a perfect table for all to enjoy. Peter was born March 31, 1949 in Ithaca, NY to Thomas V. and Rose K. Speno. He served in the US Army. His profession as a restaurateur from Carmel, San Francisco to the Sierra's included ownership, management, consulting and finally products produced under his label of "Il Rifugio". He and Inge were gracious hosts who could make even the smallest meal an epicurean adventure. His wife of 36 yrs and true soul mate, Ingeborg H. Speno survives him. Peter is also survived by; 4 step-children, 7 sisters and 5 brothers, residing on both, east and west coasts, 19 nieces and nephews and numerous friends whom Peter considered family. Peter was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Tom and his step-son, Larry. The communities' outreach of love has surpassed any siblings' expectations. It is so warm to know that Peter's life had such a lasting impact. It is a reflection of his sincere and generous personality. He indeed inspired and will be deeply missed.
