Obituary of Marion R. Forken
Marion Kerlin Forken died February 1, 2018 at the age of 93. She was born March 8, 1924 in Syracuse. Marion was a member of St. Charles Altar Rosary Society, Solvay Fireman’s Auxiliary and Yak-Yak club. She is predeceased by her parents James and Sarah Kerlin; her husband John F. Forken; siblings Ron, Patricia (Kilpatrick), James, Joseph and Charles Kerlin; and son-in-law Fred Hillyard.
Marion is survived by siblings: Sally Ennis and Joan Kerlin; children: John Forken (Christine), Kathleen Procopio (Tony), Carol Hillyard, Margaret Forken (Steve Lindstrom), Patricia Forken (Michael Lammey), and Amy Gaines (Robert); grandchildren: Marty Forken (Lynda), Beth Ehret (Michael), Doug Forken (Adrienne Lanni), Sara Procopio (Michael Robinson), Christopher Procopio, Carin Hofer (Nicholas), Mark Procopio (Christopher Vaeth), Peter Lammey and Shaela Gaines; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Marion loved much and laughed often with her family. She enjoyed lunch outings, day trips, bowling, and playing cards and bingo with friends and grandchildren. We are grateful for the loving care provided to our mother by Loretto, Cunningham 13th floor staff.
Calling hours will be on Thursday, February 8 from 4-7 pm at Edward J. Ryan & Son, Inc. Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave, Syracuse and funeral services on Friday, February 9 at 11am at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 417 S. Orchard Rd, Syracuse, and internment at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
