Obituary of Jean M. Foster

Jesus called Jean Marie Foster home and she answered on February 18, 2018.  Born in Liverpool, NY in1928 to Paul and Marie Giers.  Jean graduated from Valley High School and was a secretary at Dun and Bradstreet and Community Hospital. She was a previous communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church and St. Ann’s Church.  Jean was an avid Yankees and SU sports fan and an original stock holder in the Syracuse Chiefs.  Jean met the love of her life, Tom and they were married in 1950.  Together they were the backbone of our family.  They loved, nurtured and supported not only their own children and grandchildren, but also extended family and friends.

 

Jean was predeceased by her sister, Lucille Dillon.

 

She is survived by her loving husband, Tom; children, Linda and Bob Halligan, Tom Foster and Patti Harold, and Laura and Hugh Wheeler; siblings, Paul and Mariagnes Giers and Ann Foltrauer, 17 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

 

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at St. Ann’s Church, 4471 Onondaga Blvd.  Calling hour will be 10 to 11am prior to the service at church.  Burial will be in Valley Cemetery.
