Obituary of Fr. Laurence W. Kennedy

     Fr. Laurence Kennedy, 86, of Syracuse passed away peacefully March 11, 2018 at Loretto Health and Rehabilitation Center. 

     Fr. Kennedy graduated from Saint Patrick's school in 1949 and completed his priestly studies at St. Andrew/St. Bernard's Seminary before being ordained Feb. 2, 1957.  Before retiring 11 years ago he held various assignments including: Our Lady of the Rosary, Utica; Our Lady of Lourdes, Utica; Diocesan Marriage Tribunal and most recently was Pastor at Saint Brigid-St. Joseph parish in Syracuse. 

     He is survived by a brother, Fr. James Kennedy, a sister, Helen (Ralph) Lorenzini, two nieces Mary (Michael) Dunham, Ann Lorenzini and three grand nephews, Peter, Timothy and Joseph Dunham.

     A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Thursday at St. Patrick’s and St. Brigid's Church, 216 N. Lowell Ave. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 5:30-7:00 pm at St. Patrick’s Church with the Vigil for a Priest to follow at 7:00 pm.  Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery, Dewitt.

     In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Patrick’s and St. Brigid's Church, 216 N. Lowell Ave. Syracuse, NY 13204.
