Julie Farr

Obituary of Julie Ann Farr

Please share a memory of Julie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Julie Farr, 65, died peacefully on Sunday following a long illness. She is survived by her sister, Mary (David) Walsh of Syracuse; nieces, Kerry Walsh (Tom Evans) and Katie Walsh; nephew, Patrick Walsh, cherished dog Lucy and many devoted friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Sherman and Margaret Farr.

Born in Watertown, she spent most of her life in Syracuse as a state employee of the Department of Transportation. Sewing was her passion and her talent, as anyone who received one of her homemade gifts can attest. She was happiest when cheering on her beloved SU basketball and football teams, singing along to the Eagles, traveling with friends and spending time with her family. Her infectious cheer, stubborn streak and dry sense of humor will be missed by all who knew her.

Her family would like to thank the staff at the Hearth at Greenpoint and Loretto for their compassionate care.

Julie donated her body to Upstate’s Anatomical Medical Program.  Calling hours will be Thursday, December 6th from 4 to 6 p.m. at Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave, Syracuse. A memorial service will follow at 6 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CNY SPC; 5878 E Molloy Rd, Syracuse, NY 13211
