Louise A. Galvin, 88, of Syracuse passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 9, 2019. She was the daughter of Richard Ferraro and Mary (Cerro) Ferraro Martini. Louise was a communicate of St. Michael’s Church on Onondaga Hill, where she was an eucharistic minister and participated in their Alter Rosary Society. She was a proud member of Women United, the Westvale Golf Club, and Valley Democrats. In 2002, Louise was presented the Woman of the Year Award from Woman United.

 

Louise was predeceased by her husband, Maurice R. Galvin, son, Timothy R. Galvin, grandchildren, Michael R. Galvin and Jennifer Garrison, her parents, and her brother, F. Richard Ferraro.

 

She is survived by her children, Mary (Bruce) Singer, Rosanne (Dan) Glavin, Daniel Galvin, Theresa (Luis) Martinez, and Suzanne (David) Smith, her sister, Rosemary Ornelas, 7 grandchildren and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 10am at St. Michael’s St. Peter’s Church, Onondaga Hill. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 from 4 to 7pm at the Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave. Burial will be in Onondaga Valley Cemetery.
