Obituary of Florence Elaine Card

Florence E. Card, 88, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Menorah Park. She was born in Rensselaer, NY and raised in Utica, NY.  Daughter of the late William Card, Sr. and Martha Card.  She attended Our Lady of Lourdes School in Utica and graduated from Utica Free Academy in 1951.  She was a stenographer at Utica Knitting Mills.  She left that position to care for her ailing mother.  After her mother passed, Florence took a secretarial position with Marcy Psychiatric Center, retiring after 35 years of service.

She was predeceased by three brothers, William, Richard, and Edward and her sister, Mary Burkart.

She is survived by her sister, Alice (Stephen) Heffron, nieces, Lorraine (Michael) Murray, Rita (Jim) Lucas, Mary (Curtis) Curry, Elizabeth (Jim) Oberley, Martha (Mark) Lavender, Margaret (and the late Roger) Delvalle, Claire Card (Peter Barnacle) and Mary (Hugo) Wells; nephews, Christopher (Joan) Heffron, William (Margaret) Heffron, Mark Heffron, Thomas Heffron, Richard (Angie) Card, Robert (Helen) Card and William Card and many great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 26, 2021 at 10am at Immaculate Conception Church, 400 Salt Springs Street Fayetteville, NY 13066. Calling hours will be prior, at church, from 9 to 10am.  Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Whitesboro, NY.
