Obituary of Karen M. Corbett

Karen Marie Corbett (Rockwell, Ranieri), 54, of Syracuse passed away peacefully on July 20, 2021 at Crouse Hospital after insurmountable challenges due to stroke.  Karen was born March 27^th, 1967 to Alexander A. Ranieri and Carolyn (Sierotnik) Tippett. 

Karen was a 1985 graduate of West Genesee High School.  After graduation Karen remained in the Syracuse and Camillus areas where she worked as a pharmacy technician for over 30 years.  Before her passing she was a beloved member of the team at the Medicine Shoppe in Camillus, where she always brightened everyone’s day.

Karen was very athletic in her youth, playing volleyball and softball in school.  She continued to play softball for the Blarney Stone’s recreational team alongside her closest friends for many years into adulthood.  Karen was a great catcher and she cherished these lifelong friendships

Karen was also an animal lover.  Over the years she enjoyed spending time with her dogs.  Karen shared a special bond with her black retriever, Roosevelt.  She loved spending time at the lake, or in front of a good campfire listening to her favorite ‘tunes’. Karen was an amazing cook.  Her chicken cutlets were her signature dish.

Karen was a generous soul.  She was a friend to everyone and a great listener who never judged. It was not unusual for Karen to take in a stray, be it a wayward friend, family member, or animal in need.  Her love was unconditional and endless.

Karen was a devoted mother to Stephanie, Alyssa, and Daryl.  She found joy in raising her children and many others, including many friend’s children, nieces, and nephews.  She treated them all as her own.  She was also a loving grandmother to Darren, Iris and Rowan.

Karen cherished her family.  She was predeceased by her father, “Al” Ranieri, her brother, Mark Ranieri, and her mother and father in law, “Ace” and Joanne Corbett.  She is survived by her husband, Willian R. “Billy” Corbett, her daughters, Alyssa (Rockwell) Lampert, and Stephanie Rockwell, her mother, Carolyn (Sierotnik) Tippett, her brothers, Peter Ranieri, Stephen Ranieri and her sister, Christine “Chrisy” (Ranieri) Mckieghan.  She is survived by many other friends and family members that she was very close to.
